Screenplay Update

My screenplay, “The Darkroom”, has reached 31 pages.  Still not done, but click here if you would like to read what I have down so far and give me feedback.  I appreciate it.

  1. This is some nice work, man. I like it so far. It has a very cool film noir/Twilight Zone feel to it. Very atmospheric. As a nitpick though, I sort of got a bit of a Scooby Doo vibe from the way that Bill and Roger go about dealing with the photograph. I realize this is an homage to 50s horror, but I wanna say that you’re trying to go for something completely serious instead of something that has some humor peppered in. I could be wrong, though. All in all, it’s been an enjoyable read, and the cliffhanger where you left off is awesome.

    • Thank you!! I actually started off being every bit of serious, but then I realized I wasn’t having much fun with it, yet I really wanted to write something with that plot. So I continued and started having a bit of fun while I did. :) I didn’t expect anyone to be reminded of Scooby Doo–maybe that’s good, maybe not–but I expected it to come across as a bit lighthearted. I’m actually so in love with this story (which, by the way, is of slight similarity to a screenplay a good friend if mine started last year) that I used a music composition software I have on my computer called Finale Songwriter to compose a theme. I’m trying to make that sound a bit like a 50s horror theme, too; of all films, images from the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers reverberate in my mind whenever I playback the first three or four measures. :D
